About Me

Hello, pleased to meet you...

My name is Haida, yes quite like the name of the Canadian tribe but I hail from the tiny island of Singapore. That little red dot. Presently, I live and work in Sudan. Fascinating place really. I work in development, enjoys moving about, loves bookstores, roaming about in places I don't know, snuggling up on a lazy afternoon, easy chatter, wine and warm sunshine.

I have a solid reputation for falling into potholes sober or drunk, prefers triangles sandwiches to square ones and don't quite have a sweet tooth. On most days, I like listening to music on repeat mode, reading the same book over and over again (I blame this on my limited capacity to retain information for extended period) and yes, occasionally watching the same movies again and again. I am a big fan of Murakami, Edward Hopper and Arthur Schopenhauer.

I am no expert on anything really, just my own life. Even then, I sometimes struggle. Many days I think I ought to structure my life a bit better. But then again, there's something fun in the unexpected. The twists and turns, the good and bad. Everyday, I try to be a good person, talk less listen more, be there for my friends, be kind to others, smile and mean what I say. I do my job well, stay humble and take care of my soul. All these often easier said than done but somehow we all got to start trying I supposed.

I am nothing special, of that I know and likely too this blog is no more than a personal project. But I hope they offer something to you along the way. These words you read here are mine and mine alone. So welcome to my world.

Come on in, have a cup of cyber tea and bring your friends...
